Club Runs

Weekly Club Ride
The weekly club ride is held on Saturdays throughout the year and routes vary each week. Please check our WhatsApp group or Facebook page for details of each weeks ride.

The club social ride is generally run at a relaxed pace of 15-16 mph average, covering 50+ miles with an obligatory café stop along the way...! Shorter rides are also arranged to accommodate younger riders or beginners.

Saturday rides depart at 9am from the Bourne Leisure Centre, Queens Road. Social rides are only as fast as the slowest rider and we operate a 'no-drop' policy. Riders will need to have at least social ride club membership to cover insurance.

During summer months there is usually a shorter (25 mile) club social ride on Thursday evenings at 6pm, ending at a local pub for well earned refreshments.

Club Ride

Save the date for the 8th Edition of the BWCC Longest Day Charity ride - Saturday 20th June 2026

Yet again our club members will be taking part in the annual charity ride in aid of prostate cancer. This well established event on the Bourne Wheelers calendar generates great support from club members and other local club riders.

There will be two ride options on the day - 4 x 38 mile loops to complete 150 miles or 4 x 25 mile loops to complete 100 miles.

Riders are free to join at any time throughout the day and do as much or as little distance as they feel. Riders can choose to switch between distances if desired e.g. 1 x 25 mile; 1 x 38 mile route.

Free food and refreshments will be provided between each loop; there is no entry fee to take part. A just giving page will be setup for donations in aid of prostate cancer research. Follow our Bourne Wheelers Facebook page for more details and updates.

Mablethorpe fish and chip ride 2023
On the May Bank Holiday Sunday seven riders set out from the Bourne Leisure Centre to Mablethorpe for fish and chips. The weather was cool to start with a cool North Easterly breeze. The ride set out at a good pace reaching our first cafe stop at Woodhall Spa at 17mph, with everyone doing a turn on the front.
As we arrived and parked up a voice shouted Stuart, Chris Bettinson was there from Spalding CC but on his Motor bike for breakfast with a group. Our broom wagon had already arrived ready to replenished our water bottles ready for the effort that was before us across the Wolds. With some steady climbs we reached Mablethorpe, The chip shop that we had planned to stop at was heaving so we looked for another and eventually stopped at the Queens way. The food was good and reasonably priced. After eating our food we mad our way back to the car for fresh water and cookies to boost the journey back. The wind gods were in our favour with a tail wind for most of the ride back. The weather turned very dull a tad cooler. Making our way to Skinners ice cream shop in Fishtoft we were well ready for our well deserved ice cream. Barb’s and Mary were there again to refresh the water and supply us with cookies and protein bars. After leaving Bourne at 0800 we arrived back in Bourne at 1820.
After checking Strava it gave us all a top ten on a segment of 13.3 miles from Sutton on Sea called chain tight. On reflection everyone enjoyed their day out, so looking forward to the longest day on the 1st of July and another fish and chip ride in September to Hunstanton.
