Heckington Show 2026
Several members of Bourne Wheelers youth team, the 'Bourne Bullets' competed in the Heckington Show grasstrack cycle events at the end of July.
Dylan, Alex and Thomas were competing in the U12 category, with Luke in the U16.
Great performances from the boys across multiple races on the day resulted in them taking home the team prize for Bourne Wheelers - well done Bullets..!
Paracycling National Championships 2026
Club member Steve Marsh won the British Cycling paracycling H3 national championships in both road race and time trial disciplines at Darley Moor race circuit in July.
Congratulations Steve from all of us at Bourne Wheelers.
Hereward League 2026
Bourne Wheelers won both the Time Trial Bike and Road Bike team categories in the 2026 Hereward League Time Trial event for the first time in the history of the event. Several individual categories were also won by BWCC riders.
A summer long battle was played out with Fenland Clarion, Spading CC and Peterborough CC, with Bourne finally coming out victorious after 4 competitive rounds.
A fantastic club spirit was shown with a large number of members showing up to ride the time trial events, spurred on by the promise of pizza and beer..
Well done to all competitors across the four clubs and here's to the challenge of retaining the titles in 2027.
Longest Day 2026
Bourne Wheelers annual event in aid of Prostate Cancer Research was held on June 20th, hosted again by Stuart and Barbara Handley.
Riders had the choice of 4 x 38 mile loops, 4 x 25 mile loops, or a combination of both depending on time and ability. A great turnout from club members and members from other clubs in support of this charity managed to raise a fantastic £1562.
A huge thanks to Stuart and Barbara for their hospitality and great food as usual, and to everyone who graciously donated to this wonderful cause.
